In order to have any submitted artwork be usable, the following is a description of our file standards along with the types of files that we accept and an explanation of those formats.
FILE STANDARDS
For logos and illustrations:
- All artwork must be vector-based line art. If using pixel-based imagery, the image must be set to a higher resolution to prevent distortion once the image is set to full-scale size.
- All fonts must be converted to outline format
- File types that are accepted are as follows: .eps (Encapsulated Postscript), .ai (Adobe Illustrator), and .pdf (Adobe Acrobat).
For photos
- The minimum resolution for a digital photo must be 300 dpi (dots per inch).
- The file size for photos cannot exceed 400MB.
- File types that are accepted are as follows: .tiff (Tagged-Image-File-Format), .bmp (Bitmap Image), .jpg (Joint Photographic Experts Group), and .psd (Photoshop Files).
UPLOAD INSTRUCTIONS
On the main page of Signs By Tomorrow--Grand Rapids North, you will see a tab located in the center of the screen that reads "Upload Files." When a specific set of artwork is needed for an order, we often have people upload their files to this location.
The following is a step-by-step instructional on how to upload files to our website.
1. In the upper right corner click on the box that says upload files.
2. You need to enter a user name and password.
Username - grsigns
Password - signs
This will always be the username and password.
3. Click submit.
4. Click file upload in the upper left portion of the screen.
5. You now need to browse your system for the file you wish to upload.
6. Once you find the file, highlight it and click open.
7. Click upload (next to the browse button).
8. Wait a moment while the file uploads - it will confirm when it is complete.
9. We will get a confirming e-mail when the file is received.
10. We will download the file from the FTP site to our server.
After sending the file, please notify grandrapidsnorth@signsbytomorrow.com via e-mail that you have uploaded a file. Include in the e-mail a brief description of the artwork uploaded and the intended application/work order number reference (if available).
Thank you!
