Camp Hill, Pennsylvania 4-5-11 -- Coinciding with the start of Earth Month in April, Signs By Tomorrow of Harrisburg West announces the addition of the environmentally-friendly Hewlett-Packard DesignJet L25500 large format printer, designed to reduce the impact of digital printing on the environment while increasing the store’s print production capacity.
“We are committed to bringing the latest sign-making technology to our customers and are now pleased to do that in an environmentally-friendly way,” said Pamela Line, owner of the Harrisburg West store. This commitment is reflected in the addition of the L25500, one of a new generation of printers from HP that delivers indoor and outdoor prints on a wide variety of media while offering durability and quality equal or superior to that of traditional solvent-based inks.
The L25500 uses water-based latex inks that do not contain any volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) or hazardous air pollutants that can be harmful to people and the environment. The printer also meets strict energy efficiency guidelines, and unlike traditional solvent-based ink technologies, a majority of the waste generated from the L25500 is recyclable.
In addition to investing in the L25500, Signs By Tomorrow of Harrisburg West actively recycles all cardboard, plastic, glass and acrylic waste and offers its customers an option to use recycled materials. All Signs By Tomorrow stores also participate in green programs to dispose of printer waste and used customer media as part of a franchise-wide focus on sustainable operations.
According to Heather Davis, director of marketing for Signs By Tomorrow - USA, Signs By Tomorrow is the first national signage company that will install the environmentally-friendly L25500 printer as standard equipment in all new stores. Signs By Tomorrow of Harrisburg West is the first store in its area to employ this technology.
