West Palm Beach, Florida 8-17-2011 --Signs By Tomorrow of West Palm Beach has fabricated and installed four etched glass panel displays and commemorative plaques for the City of Wellington’s Patriot Memorial. Franchise owner Scott Bedford was awarded the contract to provide separate plaques that will be placed around the fountain, on benches and the flagpole and World Trade Center steel display.
“The Wellington Patriot Memorial reminds us about that unforgettable day,” Bedford said. “It’s a Memorial for many heroes and innocent victims.”
The four displays include:
- 50” x 60” tempered glass panels installed in 84” x 55” aluminum frames
- Inscriptions of the names of nearly 3,100 victims of the 9-11 tragedy
- Aluminum and bronze plaques with the history of the recovered steel
The Memorial park setting contains a fountain with an eternal flame, a column and pieces of steel recovered from the collapsed World Trade Center, a flagpole and a reflecting area with benches for viewing the etched glass displays. The Wellington Patriot project is being built with community support.
“We operate our business in a way that supports the community,” Bedford explained. “My family has lived in Wellington for over 18 years and I am very proud to be part of this important project.”
The Patriot Memorial incorporates the glass panels into the site located at 12198 West Forest Hill Boulevard between City Hall and Scott's Place barrier-free playground. The City of Wellington will hold a dedication ceremony on Sunday, September 11.
