Mary Lou Goehrung is a leader in the Graphic and Sign Industry and ranked in the top two of nearly 200 Signs By Tomorrow franchises nationwide. A native of the area, she owns three stores in Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Rockville. Seventeen years ago, she purchased the franchise and joined forces with her two sons Glenn, a graphic designer and Scott, an engineer.
Goehrung, who earned her business degree at University of Maryland, also spent 16 years working in administration for D.C. law firm Arnold & Porter, which is the basis for her professionalism and the excellent work ethic customers praise in their letters and phone calls.
"I run a professional organization, and we're all about customer service. We find the best solutions for everyone's budget and deliver on time," Goehrung says. "We design, create and install. All designers have graphics degree. Combine that expertise with state of the art equipment, and customers are assured a great experience at all three locations."
A typical scenario for Goehrung's company consists of performaing 24-hour sign miracles, manufacturing complete building signage, as well as producing special occasion banners. Designing logos, trade show booths, parking lot signage or shipping banners worldwide for Marriott Corp. is all in a typical day.
"I really enjoy this business. Every day is different. It is an uplifting creative atmosphere and I get to help so many people in the business community," Goehrung says. "More importantly, how many adults get to see their sons everyday and also have their college tuition investment repaid many-fold?"
