Victory Garden - Murrieta Mesa High School

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Late Spring of 2016, Murrieta Mesa High School Athletic Director John Broussard shared his Vision –

CHARACTER, COMMUNITY, CHAMPIONSHIPS

Championships?!  Mesa was a mid-sized school assigned to a strong division of large schools that held several state and national rankings.  The RAMS https://www.murrieta.k12.ca.us/page/14164 surprised nearly everyone – Three CIF and a State Championships in three years, and with the flood of students transferring there will be more to come.

Just as impressive was Mr. Broussard’s conviction that his Vision could be implemented in part by creating an environment that encourages

CHARACTER, COMMUNITY, CHAMPIONSHIPS

THE PLAN - PHASE I

  • VICTORY GARDEN – Transformation of a rundown landscaped arvictory gardenea with a tree providing shade t overgrown shrubs into a gathering area for students that honors Mesa’s Victories. Seeing the completed Victory Garden was exciting. More exciting was being on campus this spring and seeing a large contingent of students converge on the Garden during a break before dispersing to their next class. image2
